My handbrake settings are pretty simple "High Profile", i try and leave the original resolution to 1080p with no cropping (will be hopefully using the resfilter in xbmc to use a external player). Start ripping, take around 40mins on my system My makemkv settings are defualt, read the disk as usual and when its finished reading select the correct title and click the little triangle next to it and unselect everything except the HD audio. MKVcleaver - Gui for extracting from MKV files MKVmergegui - part of the above tools for merging of video/audio into a mkv ![]() MKVtoolnix - a set of tools to extract audio/video from mkvs Handbrake - Still using this to transcode the video Makemkv - rips the bluray to harddrive into 1 file (no transcoding or anything involved) I have been using dvdfab to copy my dvd/blurays to harddrive but with the blurays i had issues with audio sync towards the end of the film, i think i read somewhere that dvdfab sometimes misses a frame here and there, since then i have been using makemkv and its working perfect. I have been testing my process on 2 blurays This is the process i take, im not a expert at this sort of stuff so if you see anything wrong or a better way of doing anything please let me know Handbrake does not handle any HD audio yet so another solution was needed. I have spent a good few hours looking around the net to find a comprehensive guide on getting DTS-HD and TrueHD into my bluray encodes. ![]()
